Aanchal Basur

Aanchal Basur is a Partner with the Law Offices of Panag and Babu and chairs the arbitration practice from the firm’s New Delhi, India office. She is also the founding member of the Young Indian Arbitration Counsel – an arbitration practitioners’ network currently spanning four international hubs.
Her practice focuses on international commercial arbitrations in which she has advised and appeared as counsel before institutional as well as ad-hoc arbitral tribunals.
She regularly assists clients in large-scale, multijurisdictional arbitration disputes and has conducted proceedings under the arbitration rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration (MCIA) and Delhi International Arbitration Centre (DAC).
Aanchal advises clients on all aspects and stages of the arbitral process, from the genesis of the dispute to the execution of the award both, within and outside India; in addition to conducting litigation proceedings in support of arbitration. She has also served as an administrative secretary to arbitral tribunals constituted under the rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and the London Court of International Arbitration- India.
Aanchal was recently invited by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India to present on the nuances of drafting dispute resolution clauses and assist the Ministry in preparing its training module. She recently served on an expert group that recommended amendments to the arbitration rules of the Delhi International Arbitration Centre to bring them at par with internationally recognized standards of arbitral processes.
