Sandra Gomes Pinto

Sandra is a partner of LSC since 2000, a boutique law firm focused in litigation and arbitration, mainly in the construction and energy sectors.
She holds a degree and a post-graduation in European law from the Lisbon law school. She holds a postgraduation Course on the Introduction to the New Regime of Public Works Contracts and a postgraduation Course on the Analysis and Assessment of the Proposals in Tender procedures for Public Works: a Legal and Management Perspective at the Católica University, Portugal.
As a litigation and arbitration expert with over 20 years of national and international experience, she has acted as legal counsel in procedures on matters such as the protection of foreign direct investment, complex engineering and distribution agreements, technology transfers, sale of corporate assets, international sale of goods, competition law and intellectual property law.
From the outset she provided legal advice on construction matters. Since 1999 she has been involved in energy, oil and gas matters, whereby she provided general counselling and was responsible for innovative projects regarding the liberalization of the energy market. She furthermore is very active in litigation and competition matters.
She frequently collaborates with German law firms with activity in Portugal and she has assisted multinational pharmaceutical companies on arbitration procedures
regarding medicines.
Nowadays acts as counsel for construction and energy companies operating in Angola, Mozambique, Cabo Verde and Guinea.
Some specific projects in which she rendered legal advice:
- The installation and enlargement procedure of the road section of the bridge over the river Tejo in the Lisbon area, Portugal.
- Modernization and construction of the German School (project partially funded by the German government)
- SUIT Project (the metering independent Switching Solution) for the creation of a logistics operator within the liberalization process of the gas and electricity market.
Regularly attends courses and conferences on international arbitration, more specifically by DIS (German Institution for Arbitration), VIAC – Vienna International Arbitral Center, ASA – Swiss arbitration association, Russian Association for arbitration, International chamber of Milan, Club Español del Arbitraje (Spanish Arbitration organization), ICC and the University of Florence.
Member of the Portuguese-German Chamber of Commerce (AHK) and DIS (German Institution for Arbitration).
In addition to Portuguese she speaks fluently German, English, Spanish and Elementary proficiency in Russian
